depicting the Vladimirskaya Mother of God surrounded by a silver halo decorated with garnets and crystals, the repousse silver-gilt oklad featuring, from upper right clockwise, St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, St. Olga of Kiev, Sergius of Radonezh, and a guardian angel, below, the "Zastupnitsa userdnaya" prayer ("Zealous Intercessor," also known as the "Prayer Before the Kazanskaya Mother of God"), with ornamental basma leaf border; egg tempera, gold leaf and gesso on wood panel, with raised border kovcheg, silver-gilt oklad, two splints inserted on the back, one missing, the oklad marked with 84 standard, assayer’s mark A.Sh. in Cyrillic for Aleksandr Timofeevich Shevyakov, 1896, Imperial workmaster’s mark M.
