LOT NOTES
A strategic objective was set for the Russian forces of the 78th Infantry Division under Lieutenant-General Vladimir Alekseyevich Alftan - to seize the commanding heights of the Mount Makivka, the reference point of the Austro-Hungarian army. Makivka is a mountain (altitude: 958 m) located in the Carpathians near the village of Slavske in Lviv Oblast.
