Therese Marthe Françoise Dupre was the eldest daughter and student of the leading member of the Barbizon School Julien Dupre (1851-1910) and niece of the influential French realist painter George Laugee (1853-1937). Her paintings were heavily influenced by both of them.
Although Therese debuted at the Paris Salon in 1899 and became a member of the Societe des Artistes Francais, her work is extremely rare, with only a handful of them appearing on the market over the last decade.
