Pierre Ernest Ballue was a landscape artist who painted in the environs of the Fontainebleau forest in Barbizon. He was a student of Etienne Maxime Vallee and Alexandre Defaux. From 1875, he exhibited regularly at the Paris Salon des Artists Francais and received medals in 1891, 1911, and 1920.
Ballue’s work can be found in the Louvre as well as several provincial museums in France.
