According to the inscriptions on verso, this work was probably sent to 66 Fifth Avenue in New York - the office and gallery premises of the Little Review, a radical literary magazine edited by Jane Heap and Margaret Anderson, dedicated to the innovative movements of the 1920s. Heap operated the Little Review Gallery, primarily focusing on Constructivism and Machine-inspired art, between 1924 and 1927. Her two largest and most notable exhibitions were the Machine-Age Exposition in 1927 and the International Theater Exposition in 1926. The latter was organized by Frederick Kiesler, featuring groundbreaking works by Rodchenko, Popova, Tzara, Picabia, Moholy Nagy along with many more Russian and European modernists.
