LOT NOTES
SHKURUPIY, Geo [Georgiy Danilovich] (Ukrainian 1903-1937) was a prominent Ukrainian panfuturist poet and writer. In 1930 he became the head of a Kiev branch of the New Generation artist`s union and the editor-in-chief of it`s publication Avangard, of which only two issues were published. This important cultural magazine features the first printed script for Zemlya by O. Dovzhenko, as well as: O. Vlyzko`s reportage Poyizdy yidut` na Berlin; poems by I. Malovichko, P. Mel`nyk, Yu. Paliychuk; essays by K. Malevich, M. Umakov, and G. Shkurupiy himself.
