Alexander Vedernikov studied under Alexander Kuprin and Artur Fonvizin at the Nizhny Novgorod Technical Collage of Art from 1921-23, and under Osip Braz and Alexei Karev at VKhUTEMAS/VKhUTEIN in Leningrad from 1924-1927. A member of the Circle of Artists group from 1928-32, Vedernikov worked at the experimental lithographic studio of the Leningrad branch of the Union of Artists from 1939.
