PROVENANCE:
Gift from the artist to Igor Schwezoff, New York; Acquired from the estate of Igor Schwezoff in 1982. Igor Schwezoff (1904-1982) was a Russian-born dancer and choreographer who defected from Russia in 1931. He arrived in New York in 1941 and subsequently split his time between there and Rio de Janeiro where he founded the Ballet da Juventude in 1947.
