A RUSSIAN IMPERIAL POLISH REBELLION ERA ORDER OF ST. GEORGE SILVER AWARD TRUMPET BESTOWED ON THE LIFE-GUARDS ATAMANSKY COSSACK REGIMENT

Rarely seen large silver presentation regimental trumpet with silk ribbon in order of St. George colors and silver tassels. Silver badge of the Military Order of St. George is attached to the bowl, surrounded by inscription in Russian: "For Warsaw 25-26th August of 1831." Made of silver with parcel gilt inner bowl, hallmarked in three places with a silver purity mark "84," St. Petersburg town mark and maker's mark of silversmith Frederick Lenquist (1801 - 1833). Attribution: The trumpet was bestowed on the Life Guards Atamasky Cossack regiment for excellence while pacifying the Polish rebellion of 1830-31.Condition: Minor dents throughout, some patina, repair on the ribbon, but overall superb original condition.
