A RUSSIAN IMPERIAL COSSACK SHASHKA SWORD WITH ORDER OF ST. ANNE, PRIZE WEAPON WITH MULTIPLE BADGE AWARDS, ZLATOUST, 1896-1912

The leather scabbard mounted with a pair of Imperial Cyphers of Nicholas II, the scabbard additionally mounted with a plaque indicating it was awarded for high aptitude in shooting, another plaque indicates that is it for the mastery of two weapons, curved single-sided blade becoming double-edged at the spear-point, the edge of the blade with a chased design surrounding an inscription reading Zlatoust, the blade with intricate chased designs showing war scenes, the handle with an applique enameled cross of St. Anne and an inscription in Cyrillic Za Hrabrost [For Bravery], length of the blade: 80.5 cm (31 3/4 in.), overall length: 95.5 cm (37 5/8 in.), base of blade marked in Cyrillic A A P on one side and 1896 on the other
