The Virgin wearing a purple maphorion, her head surrounded with gold leaf halo while Christ wearing a green himation and a red tunic underneath. St. John and St. Catherine the Great Martyr rendered on the left side of the icon border with St. Alexei and St. Irina on the right. Egg tempera, gold leaf, and gesso on a wood panel.
